Owen’s teaching schedule is constantly full and there is a waiting list of students for private brass lessons. Spaces do occur periodically, particularly at the start of an academic term, so please enquire for current availability.

Students are regularly prepared and entered for music exams up to Grade 8, with a 100% pass rate. Online lessons are available to theory students studying for the ABRSM Grade 5 theory exam.

Owen also works in several local schools as a brass tutor and assists students with GCSE and A Level performances, concerts and productions. He continues to have strong links with the Tewit Youth Band organisation in Harrogate, where he first started to play aged 8.

For fees and availability please contact Owen.

Former Student: Sasha Brunyee

Sasha studied the Tenor Horn with Owen for around three years and passed several exams including her grade 8 and A-level music performance. Under his teaching, she prepared for and passed the difficult audition process to join the Corps of Army Music as a Tenor Horn player.

While in training at Kneller Hall, she made the change from Eb Horn to Euphonium and now tours the world with the Band of the Grenadier Guards as a Euphonium player. Being dual US/UK nationality, Sasha had the unique opportunity to play for both her President and her Queen all on the same day in 2019, during President Trump’s state visit to the UK. Congratulations Sasha on your career!
